Eat Healthy Be Active Program -(Mondays) Nov. 5 through Dec 10

Eat Healthy Be Active program to be offered by UW – Extension

Do you need encouragement to live a healthier life? With winter looming just ahead, it can be a task to eat healthy. Upcoming holidays and colder weather make it challenging to make good food choices, and to get off the couch and be active! Perhaps you have watched your weight on the scale creep up, and your fear of diabetes or heart disease goes up as the scale goes up! Through the Eat Healthy Be Active class you can learn how to eat healthier, get in some quick physical activities, and decrease your risk for chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Workshops will include taste testing, fun activities, stretch breaks, and tips for small changes that can make a large difference in your health.

Mary Ann Schilling, Health & Well-Being Educator with Waushara County UW – Extension, will be the instructor. She will use resources from the Dietary Guidelines and the Physical Activity Guidelines to help you reach good health. Ms. Schilling has a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and a Master’s in Adult Education. She will be celebrating eight years as an educator with UW – Extension.

Mary Ann knows that people of all ages have different nutrition and physical activity needs as lives and bodies change. A strong and healthy body can provide many benefits. As you age, maintaining healthy habits is an important way to lower your risk for cancer, diabetes, heart disease and hypertension. Come to Eat Healthy Be Active to make your food and beverage choices a priority and be physically active to feel and look better. The class will be held on 6 Mondays from 2-3:30 p.m. November 5 through December 10.
